New quarter panels have arrived!

That quarter had some weight to it with all the filler.

The rear window corner needed a panel made for the lower lip, the pocket was purchased, and the rear cowl panel made.

Everything overlaps in the corner and the pocket has to be slid inside the quarter once hung. I welded it first, but there is no way of stretching the quarter enough to get up and over the pocket once it was installed.

The inner panels were cleaned up and painted. The quarter window was removed, track cleaned, new rollers and hardware added, and re assembled. I am sure this is a lot easier to do while the quarter is off.

The B-pillar was crush a bit from the side impact and wasn’t lining up right.

Now the damage to the door is more apparent in the fitment of the door to quarter. Luckily the car came with an extra driver’s side door.

This door fits a lot better. The rear tail light bezel and trunk gap were pretty tight at first, but with a little work were moved over for a better gap.

Everything is taking shape and is getting ready to be welded with the driver’s side.

I pull everything where it needs to go starting where the sail meets the rear cowl at the trunk, moving to the door edge, wheel well, and adjusting the tail to fit the trunk and taillight.

I use tech screws to hold things in place, and make sure to punch the plug weld holds before fitting the panel the last time. I start in the front and work to the back, jumping around on the panel until all the welds are done, and grinding is the same way to keep heat down in the area worked.

The welds are cleaned up, and shot with touch up to seal everything until it’s time to strip for paint. With all the panels lined up here, it on to the other side.
